This outfit has only one piece of interest, and that is this military-inspired jacket. I found it at a thrift store about three weeks ago. It was a brand that I did not recognize, although upon research I discovered that it is a now-defunct Forever 21 brand. I rarely buy F21 in thrift stores because the items I usually find, made so cheaply to begin with, are already past their primes. I made an exception for this jacket! It is fully lined, and I am in love with the “floofiness” erupting from the sleeves. The floofiness is hard to see in pictures, so I will need to photograph this jacket again when I have someone to take pictures for me (as opposed to me, with my phone in selfie mode, snapping a few quick photos before I leave to work. We’ve all got to start somewhere, right?!)
Anyway, back to the jacket. It has a bit of an edgy, almost steampunk vibe, and although I would not say that I would ever describe my style as steampunk or edgy, I think the sleeves, feminine shape, and classic color scheme of this jacket makes it work for my style.
I wore it (after washing, of course) the day after finding it, and then repeated that same outfit today. The only thing I changed was that I tucked my sweater in this time, and I wore my black flats since I was wearing it for school, not church.
This is one of the few outfits that I have repeated this year.
As much as I love this jacket, though, I have to admit that I far prefer the jacket in the photo I used for Stylebook because it is amazing. It has no floofiness, but the level of detail and overall design is just incredible. Unfortunately for me, it’s Dolce and Gabbana, so I’m going to have to stick with my wee little thrifted Forever 21 imitation!
One of these days, I am going to remember to sweep my porch.
Until then, Happy Wednesday!
