Teaching Outfits: August 27-31 (The Tripod Edition)

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve shown a teaching outfit round-up, so here’s a quick look at what I wore to school last week! Shockingly, there’s only one blazer! Baby steps, you guys! I have a wide variety of photo quality for these pictures because I’ve been experimenting with a mini phone tripod (this one, if you’re curious). I know this should make things easier, but because I have no photography skills whatsoever, I’ve had the hardest time figuring out the right height and angle to set the tripod. I managed to get some decent photos, and a whole lot of rather terrifying pictures which shall be seen…

Spring/Summer Wardrobe Holes: A Look Back

Hello, lovely readers! It’s been a little while since our last post! To be completely honest, I haven’t gotten good outfit pictures in…well…since my last post. Gus and I have been doing some brainstorming for posts ideas that don’t necessarily need good outfit photos (since, in case you haven’t noticed, our photography is definitely our weak point), and so far, we have a lot of ideas, but not the time to post them. Someday, maybe our schedules will calm down again, but until then, we’ll just post when we can. We have been a lot more faithful over on our Instagram page, so feel free to follow us there for…

Tonight, I wanted to share this simple outfit I wore for my niece and nephew’s birthday party down at my grandparents’ on Saturday! I have not posted this on Instagram yet, so if you follow us there, then I guess this post counts as spoilers! I am not sure if this breaks some sort of social media rule? But since Gus and I somehow had a plethora of outfits to post over…

Teaching Outfits: July 30-August 3, The Cameo Edition

Good evening, dear readers! Tonight’s post is brought to you by a lot of sugar. You see, school started on Monday, and I’ve been a ball of nerves, panic, and utter exhaustion since then! I have switched classes this year, from high school to an elementary class, and with staying later at school and the cramming of learning a new curriculum, I have not had a lot of extra time or energy. I did manage to take a quick shot of my outfits before leaving for work each day, and because we have just gotten home from a birthday party at which I ate an embarrassing amount of cake, I’m…

The 25 Essentials in My Modest Wardrobe

Good morning, everyone! I am writing this while watching the British Open, so if my writing suddenly gets more posh and sophisticated, you know why. Side note: I have finally determined that, after football and basketball, golf is my favorite sport to watch. It’s so calm! So peaceful! So green! Nothing is more soothing than watching a leisurely bit of golf on a Sunday afternoon and then being  lulled to sleep by the calm, measured British accents of the commentators. Anyway, let’s talk about clothes. Today’s topic is essentials. I’m sure you’ve seen the lists on Pinterest: 15 Essentials Every French Woman Has in her Closet, 12 Essentials the Modern Audrey…

    Seam Ripper to the Rescue

Skirt: Ross, similar, CPW: $0.85 Blouse: Thrifted/Ann Taylor, similar, CPW: $0.99 Shoes: Thrifted/Payless, similar, CPW: $1.00 Total Cost Per Wear: $2.84 This will be a quick post, I promise! A quick story, a note on summer outfits, and a quick bemoaning of my photo editing skills, and I’ll be done! First up, Story Time! I had been wanting some new summer blouses. You know the type: loose, light, flowy, possibly ruffled or embroidered. Unfortunately for me, I am a thrifting/clearance rack shopper, and the pretty summer blouses are rarely available during actual summer. I’m sure I’ll find them all in mid November, but for now, I’m trying to be content with what I…

One Outfit Formula: Five Variations on a Theme

Good afternoon! It has been exactly a week since I posted last, and you might be thinking that, perhaps, I was extra busy, working longer hours, or frantically preparing for school. You would be giving me too much credit. No, my dear readers, I’m afraid the answer is something much more mundane, and to be honest, more embarrassing. The answer is inertia. In science, of course, I learned about inertia with the memorization and discussion of  Sir Isaac Newton’s (May he rest in peace!) 1st Law of Motion, which basically states: “An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed…

    Wardrobe Thoughts: January-June

Good afternoon, everyone! Before I begin, I should worn you all that this is going to be a very long post, and (most likely) one that is interesting only to me! For quite a while, I have been trying to be more intentional with what I wear and what clothes I buy. I wrote a blog post a few weeks back about my best and worst purchases so far this year, and I wanted to expand a little further on that subject and talk about Stylebook, the app I use to track my wardrobe, and just some general thoughts and goals I have for my wardrobe for the rest of…

    Stripes Forever

Good morning! It has been over a week since I have posted, and because of that, I had a variety of different outfits to pick from when choosing what to post. I had initially wanted to do a post on an outfit I showed on Instagram a few Saturdays ago, but unfortunately, the only picture I really liked out of the ones we took was the one I posted on Instagram (FYI, we post almost all of our outfits on Instagram first, so if you would like to see more outfits, or just more recent outfits, feel free to follow us there!), and for whatever reason, WordPress will not upload…

Thrifting Thursday & Dressing Room Try-ons, Vol. 2

Happy Thursday, everyone! Today, I have a round up of my recent thrifting and retail adventures. Out of all the things I liked and/or tried on, I succeeded in buying only three things for a grand total of $17. Are you proud of me yet? No? Let’s see if we can change that. First up, some odds and ends from some various thrift stores. Last Friday, I had some free time in between my grocery deliveries, so I stopped by one of my favorite Goodwills. I did not really need anything other than a striped boatneck t-shirt, but I was curious to see if their selection was as good as…
